ABOUT THE ARTIST

John Pfahl (February 17, 1939, New York, New York) is an American photographer. Pfahl grew up in Wanaque, New Jersey. He is known for his landscape photography such as his 1974 "Altered Landscapes" series. He received a BFA from the Syracuse University School of Art and his MA from the Syracuse University School of Communications. He taught at the Rochester Institute of Technology, Rochester, New York from 1968 – 1983. Later he was professor at the University of New Mexico, Albuquerque. Presently, (2012) he teaches at the University of Buffalo, The State University of New York (via Wikipedia).
